Paid $1200 for movers or did it myself, still sore about it

Last month in Austin I had to choose between hiring a crew for $1200 or renting a truck for $200 and bribing my buddy with pizza. I picked the cheap route. My couch now has a dent in the wall, my back hurts for 2 weeks, and my buddy's girlfriend still won't talk to me. Would you rather eat the cost for professionals or risk your friendship for savings?

Did you try a furniture dolly for the couch, or did yall just raw dog it up the stairs? I've been there, ended up paying a buddy in brisket and ibuprofen the next time, way cheaper than 1200 but I also learned to measure the damn hallway before I buy anything big.
