I thought AI video generation was just for weird deepfakes until I saw a local news station use it to recreate a missing historical building in Seattle.

They fed old photos and blueprints into a model called Runway and got a 30-second flythrough that looked real, which completely changed my mind about its practical use.

Right? That flythrough of the missing building sounds amazing. I saw a museum use the same kind of tech to show what an old train station looked like, and it just clicked for me too. Makes you wonder what else they could bring back, doesn't it?

Wow, that's a really good point about bringing things back. It makes me worry a bit, though. If we can rebuild any lost place perfectly, what pushes us to save the real ones still standing? @barbara_hall9, your train station example is cool, but it might let city planners off the hook. They could just say they'll make a digital copy later after tearing something down. This tech should help us care for real history, not replace it.
