Can we talk about sharing modified family recipes from your air fryer?

I recently made my grandma's secret potato wedges in the air fryer with a few tweaks, like adding different spices. It came out really tasty, so I posted my version on a recipe site without thinking. My grandma found out and was upset because that recipe was a family thing passed down for years. I felt bad because I never asked her if it was okay to share it with changes. This made me see that modifying and posting someone else's recipe can be a moral gray area. We might not mean harm, but it can hurt feelings or break trust. I want to warn others to consider this before putting adapted recipes online. It's something we should all keep in mind when cooking and sharing in this community.

Ugh, everything becomes content now, even family secrets.

Know someone whose aunt posted their grandma's secret recipe?

Honestly, my cousin did that with our great aunt's pie crust. Tbh, I just called her and explained how much it hurt the family. We agreed she'd take it down and now we keep a physical recipe box at my mom's house for the real secrets.
