Hit 500 air fryer salmon cooks and I'm not sorry for the mess

Everyone says to use parchment paper or liners to keep the basket clean, but I never do. I've done 500 salmon fillets in the basket directly, just a quick spray of oil, and the charred bits on the bottom give it a better crust. Who else just lets the basket get dirty for better results?

Parchment paper makes cleanup way easier though, that crust isn't worth the scrubbing.

Get my mother-in-law involved and she'll show you a whole different kind of cleanup nightmare, trust me. She used to grease her pans with bacon fat (that was her thing) and then leave them to soak for three days. I swear, every time I visit I end up scrubbing something that looks like it has its own ecosystem growing on it. So yeah, I'm team parchment paper forever now, even if it means the crust doesn't get quite as brown on the bottom. It's worth it for not having to chisel burnt cornbread off a cast iron skillet, you know?
