Had to pick between two sealants for a flap track job last Friday

We were working on a 737's flap track and the manual gave two options for the final seal: BMS 5-95 Type II or a newer, faster-curing polysulfide. The old stuff takes 24 hours to set, but the new one cures in 6. I went with the fast one to get the bird back in service quicker. It worked great, but I'm curious if anyone's had any long-term issues with the quick-cure sealant on high-movement parts?

Good call on the fast cure, we use that stuff all the time now. Haven't seen any cracks or leaks on our fleet's flap seals after a couple years. The techs love not having to babysit it overnight.

Yeah but @richardh44, is it really that big a deal? Our shop still uses the old stuff and we just schedule the seal jobs for Friday afternoons. It cures over the weekend and we've never had a call-back about it. Seems like fixing something that isn't broken.
