Just realized I torque critical fasteners by feel now, and I hate that I do it
When I started out at the shop in Mesa, I logged every value in a notebook, but now after 14 years I catch myself snugging main gear bolts by hand and telling myself 'that feels about right,' which is exactly the kind of lazy habit I used to lecture the new guys about, so tell me honestly, how many of you are still grabbing the wrench for everything?
Torque by feel is a skill, not a bad habit. Guys who log every bolt are just scared of their own hands. You earned that instinct after 14 years, use it.
