I used to fight with every single wire nut on a panel termination. Now I just put a dab of No-Ox-ID on the threads first.

My buddy's apprentice fought a wire nut for like ten minutes last week. I told him to try that trick and he said it went on like butter.

Man, why did it take me so long to learn that trick? I used to get so mad at the cheap wire nuts that come with some fixtures. I'd be sitting there, turning my wrist into a pretzel, and the thing just spins without biting. @angelamason has the right idea telling his buddy's apprentice. I started keeping a little tub of that stuff on my cart after I saw an old timer do it. Now it's the first thing I grab for any connection bigger than 14 gauge. Saves so much time and cussing.
