Just noticed anime recommendation threads keep circling back to the same handful of shows. It's getting predictable.

Got sick of seeing the same ten shows get suggested all the time. I started looking up stuff by specific directors or studios instead of just genres. Found some real hidden gems that way, shows nobody ever talks about. It takes a bit more digging but it’s way more rewarding.

Searching by director like Satoshi Kon got me into some mind-bending anime nobody mentions.
