Remember when anime forums were just text on a screen?

My old forum archive from 2008 finally corrupted last week, and I spent a day trying to recover those old 'best fight scene' threads. Anyone know a good way to back up old phpBB data before it's all gone?

Oh man, that's a real gut punch. I lost a whole forum archive back in the day too, it stings. Have you tried reaching out to any old mods from the site?

Ugh, that's brutal. I used to think digital stuff lasted forever, but losing my own old fanfic drafts changed my mind hard. For phpBB, I've had okay luck just making a full copy of the database through the hosting panel before it falls apart. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
