inPSA: I was totally wrong about brokers being too pushy
That Denver broker story hits close to home. My local credit union was great for my first car loan, but they totally dropped the ball when I tried for a home equity line last year. The loan officer just... vanished for three weeks, no calls back. Ended up going with a broker my contractor recommended, and he had it sorted in a week. Sometimes the big places just don't have their stuff together.

inI finally tried a 'no buy' month for clothes and the result was weird
My no-buy month for coffee out was a real eye-opener. I saved eighty-seven dollars, which felt huge, but the bigger shock was how many times I almost walked into a shop without thinking. It was pure muscle memory, like my feet were on autopilot. I started making a pot at home and actually finishing it, instead of buying a new cup every time I left the house. The marketing for that afternoon pick-me-up is absolutely everywhere once you try to ignore it.

inA client's comment about his old film camera made me think
Had a customer say almost the same thing about his old watch... it really is about the history.

inMy buddy told me to add a gallon of water to the mix on a hot day and I'm still paying for it
Yeah, @joseph_hunt, I bet your buddy's real quiet now.

Part of the house's story" is a bit much, it's just some old marks on a wall.
