Took me 5 years to notice I was reading anime wrong

Honestly, I always skipped the opening and ending credits of every anime I watched. Last week I was rewatching Attack on Titan on Crunchyroll and my friend paused the episode to show me the credits. Turns out the endings often have hidden scenes or changed visuals that hint at the next arc. I missed so much foreshadowing over the years by just clicking 'next episode'. Has anyone else had a moment where they realized they were skipping over important stuff?

Oh gosh, that reminds me of the time I was rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood with my nephew. I'd always fast forward through the chibi little recaps at the start of each episode. Turns out, those little silly scenes sometimes have clues about what's coming next. I missed a whole joke about the homunculi's names that my nephew had to explain to me. Made me feel like I'd been watching with my eyes half closed this whole time.

Fair point. I always skipped those too, but you just convinced me to stop.
