My boss actually admitted I was right about the scheduling mess. Shocked me.

Last Tuesday, our regional manager walked in during the morning huddle. I've been saying for 6 months that our rotating schedule for the front desk is broken. People keep getting double-booked on weekends. I showed her the spreadsheet I made with the conflicts highlighted in red from the past 8 weeks. She stared at it for a solid 30 seconds. Then she said, 'Yeah, you're right, we need to fix this.' I nearly fell off my chair. Nobody ever admits they're wrong here. Has anyone else had a manager actually listen to a suggestion and follow through?

Man, I know that feeling! @abby_carr57 nailed it with that 30 second stare comment. For me, I had a manager who finally listened after I printed out the actual overtime numbers and put them next to the schedule. I highlighted three weeks in a row where we had to pay double time because of coverage gaps. She looked at it, said "well that's a problem," and we switched to a fixed shift system the next month. Took me a year to get there though. What made you finally decide to bring the spreadsheet to the meeting?

That 30 second stare is always the longest moment of truth in management.
