Landlord's note about my AC filter turned into a great tip

Last month my landlord slipped a sticky note under my door in Austin saying my air filter was so dusty it could double as a rug. He showed me how to set a phone reminder every 30 days and buy the cheap 3-pack at the hardware store down the road. Anyone else get weird little notes from their landlord that actually helped?
