I was wrong about those cheap multimeters

For years I swore by Fluke meters and told everyone to avoid the cheap ones. Then my Fluke 87 died on a job in Austin last month and I grabbed a $25 Innova from the parts store to finish. That little thing has been dead accurate on three calls now, including a tricky oven igniter test. It's not built as tough and the leads are flimsy, but for the money it works fine for basic diagnostics. Has anyone else had good luck with the budget brands for everyday stuff?

Buddy of mine in Phoenix swears by his $30 Amazon special after dropping his Fluke off a roof.
