My Milwaukee impact driver finally gave out after 8 years of daily use on compressor housings.

I was in the middle of a tough fridge compressor swap in a tight apartment kitchen last Thursday when the chuck just seized solid, and now I'm looking for a reliable replacement that can handle constant vibration.

Honestly, eight years on that kind of work is a solid run, but maybe the problem is sticking with the same brand out of habit. People get really loyal to their tools, but that vibration you're talking about eats any motor over time. A different brand might have a better internal design to handle that specific stress. It's worth looking at everything on the market now instead of just buying the same thing again. Sometimes the obvious choice isn't the right one for the job anymore.

Wait, eight years on a single power tool? That's wild...

Used to be a diehard brand loyalist myself until my old drill shook itself apart. Kelly's got a point about looking at other options now. The new stuff might handle vibration better.
