Nearly lost a 60-foot oak because I trusted a $20 rope harness

I figured a cheap climbing harness from Amazon would be fine for just a quick trim, but the stitching started separating after 15 minutes up there. Anyone else had a close call with budget gear they want to warn people about?

Ever notice how we trust cheap stuff with our lives but splurge on things that don't matter? Like I'll spend $8 on fancy coffee but balk at a $50 rope that's actually tested. Kinda backwards if you ask me.
