Old forester told me to water my stumps. I ignored him.
Guy with 40 years experience told me to water my oak stumps to speed rot. Didn't listen. Now I'm digging out solid wood 8 months later. Anyone else waste time ignoring the old guys?

Eight months of digging solid stumps? That's brutal, man, I'd be livid at myself.

@lunaw72 that's not quite right actually. It was tree roots mixed with clay, not stumps.
