Spent 4 hours trying to figure out why a maple was dropping leaves in July
Turned out the soil pH was way off from all the road salt runoff from last winter. Had a soil test kit sitting in my truck the whole time too. Anyone else ever overlook the simple stuff and chase ghosts for half a day?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. I spent a whole afternoon once trying to figure out why my tomato plants were all yellow and droopy. I checked for bugs, looked for fungus, watered them more, watered them less. Finally my neighbor came over and pointed out I'd been watering them with the hose that had a weed killer attachment still on it. I'd literally sprayed them with Roundup by accident a week before and forgot about it. Makes you feel real silly when the answer was sitting right there the whole time.
