Spent 4 hours yesterday on a single root flare buried under 6 inches of dirt.
The homeowner kept piling mulch every year and it took forever to find the real base. Anyone else deal with this on older properties?

Ugh, that's the worst... found the same thing on my maple last fall.

Actually, maples don't usually get that, @emma72, maybe it was a different tree?
