Stop using ratchet straps on oak limbs, they crush the cambium

Saw a crew in Charlotte kill a 60 year old red oak last week because they cinched a ratchet strap around the branch for a removal and stripped the bark before the bucket even got loaded, so are you all using rope friction hitches or just hoping the wood survives the hardware?
