I compared asking my wife for directions to just using my phone's map yesterday
The phone got us to the restaurant in 10 minutes, while her 'shortcut' had us circling the same block for 20 minutes before she admitted she was thinking of a different city.

Trust the technology, not the memory of a place we went to one time in 2007. My partner's shortcuts usually involve a "vibes based" navigation system that has us driving toward a general feeling instead of an actual address.
