PSA: That $90 'ultra fast' phone charger I bought was a total dud

I saw this charger online promising half-hour full battery on my old Pixel, so I dropped $90 on it back in June. First three charges were fine, then it started heating up my phone like a pancake griddle. By the end of the month, it wouldn't even push past 40 percent without shutting down. I checked the fine print and the warranty only covered 14 days, so now it's just a paperweight with a cord. Has anyone else gotten burned by those flashy speed-charging claims or found a brand that actually holds up?

My coworker grabbed one of those for her Samsung and it fried her battery within two weeks, phone wouldn't even turn on after a month. She ended up getting a cheap $15 cable from the gas station that works better than that thing ever did.
