Rant: My view on asking for help online did a total 180
I thought searching for answers was cheating instead of thinking for yourself. But after seeing how fast a simple post can clear things up, I'm all for it now. Who wouldn't want to save time, you know?

That "save time" thing hits hard. Spent three hours once trying to diagnose a weird engine rattle. My buddy Dave stopped by, heard it for two seconds, and said "check your heat shield." It was loose. Felt like an idiot, but man, those three hours.

On my 2005 Corolla, heat shield rattles were a constant headache. I learned to tap the shield with a rubber mallet to find loose spots fast. Got any other tricks for tracking down weird car sounds?
