Appreciation post: My uncle told me to ditch the cheap tripod for astro shots

He said, 'You're wasting good camera time on a wobbly stick,' and loaned me his heavy duty one for a weekend. I finally got a sharp 30-second exposure of Orion's Belt without any star trails. Has anyone else had a simple gear change make that big a difference?

What model of heavy duty tripod did he loan you? My old one still shakes in a light breeze.
