Vent: Saw a new build in Denver with all the outlets installed upside down

I was finishing a walkthrough on a house in the Highlands last Thursday, and every single 15 amp outlet had the ground pin up. The foreman said it was a 'new safety standard' from the builder to stop things from falling across the prongs. I've been in the trade for 12 years and that just seems like a fix for a problem that doesn't exist, plus it looks weird. Has anyone else run into this and actually think it's a good idea?

My first decent shot of the Milky Way core took 47 attempts

I was stacking exposures for a deep sky target and the software said I'd hit 47 frames. That's the exact number of times I'd tried to get a clear shot of the Milky Way core from my backyard over two summers. It finally clicked when I started tracking the moon phase and drove an hour out of the city to a dark sky site near Flagstaff. The difference in star count was insane. Anyone else have a specific number of tries that finally made it work for them?

Shoutout to the guy who told me to stop using that fancy fuel additive on my 7.3 Powerstroke

Well, there's another angle to this. A lot of those additives can actually mess with the lubricity of the fuel, which is the opposite of what you want for a high pressure oil system like the 7.3 has. You might be cleaning one imaginary problem while causing real, slow wear on something else. Your buddy's filter test proves the fuel is plenty clean on its own.

Honestly, after 3 years of trying, my building finally hit a 15% drop in our energy bill last month.

Isn't it funny how we all just got used to paying so much for power? I feel like for years everyone just accepted the bills as this fixed thing, like the weather. Now I'm seeing more people in my neighborhood actually talking about their meters and sealing up cracks, stuff we never bothered with before. It's like a whole shift in how we think about our homes, not just as places to live but as these systems we can actually manage.
