inDoubted that laser level until it saved me 3 hours on a 20 ton pick yesterday
Doubt is just a step before learning something new. Watched a neighbor spend all weekend leveling a paver patio with a 2 foot level and crushed gravel. Took him three days. My other neighbor rented a rotary laser for sixty bucks and did the same job in one afternoon. Same with digital torque wrenches or even automatic transmissions. People stick with old methods because they work okay, but sometimes one tool change cuts your time in half. It makes you wonder how many other things we're doing the hard way just because nobody showed us the better way yet.

inChose between a reliable 2012 Civic or a flashy 2015 Mustang for my cleaning biz
Sorry but you're gonna regret this when you're stuck in a boring beige box for the next five years. That Mustang would've made every drive to work feel like a mini adventure, even if it costs a bit more. Boring is safe but safe is boring, man.

inWalked through the old avionics shop at Paine Field last weekend
Man, that tool crib policy was brutal. I remember a supervisor double checking my box before every shift change like it was the national guard or something. @riley860 getting written up for a #2 Phillips sounds about right, they had eyes everywhere back then. Got written up myself in '06 for leaving a pair of wire strippers on a cart by the bay door. No warnings, straight to the office.

inOne piece of feedback that made me stop rushing assembly projects
Starting with the square before cutting lets you catch issues early. Respectfully, checking after the cut just means you know exactly how bad you messed up.

inTIL a cheap trick to stop my hens from eating their own eggs
The real trick is designing your environment so you never face the urge in the first place though.
