Tried stacking my phone on the eyepiece for a moon shot and actually got something usable

I've been messing around with taking photos through my 8 inch dob for a while, mostly just holding my phone up and hoping for the best. Last night I decided to try one of those cheap phone adapters I had sitting in my drawer for like 6 months. First few tries were blurry, but I adjusted the focus on the telescope itself and got a clear enough image of the craters near the terminator line. It's not professional quality by any stretch, but it's way better than I expected for a $15 piece of plastic. Has anyone else found a trick for getting sharper shots with a smartphone?

dude that's sick, I've been trying the same thing with my 6 inch dob and a random phone mount from amazon. biggest tip I got was to use a remote shutter or the timer on your phone, cuts out all the shake from tapping the screen. also if you're using a samsung or iphone try locking the exposure before you snap, mine kept blowing out the bright parts of the moon.

Wait, you mean tapping the screen isn't part of the advanced vibration technique?
