Tried stacking my telescope shots without drizzle stacking
Did it last Saturday night on the Orion Nebula. Ended up with weird pixel artifacts all over the core. Has anyone else had better luck with a different stacking method?

16 subs and drizzle is usually the fix for the core artifacts you're seeing. You could try a median stack instead of average to kill the hot pixels without touching the detail. I've had good results on M42 with a 3x drizzle on the subs and then a separate stack for just the core using a shorter exposure set. Kappa sigma clipping is another option but it takes some trial and error with the threshold numbers.

Wait, you can drizzle on 16 subs and actually fix core artifacts? @charlie384
