Rant: my $300 paint gun lasted one full truck before the cup threads stripped
Bought a cheaper HVLP gun from the supply house on Route 22 last spring. Worked great on a Ford F-150 repaint, then the fluid cup started wobbling on the second job. Took it apart and the threads were gone, just plastic dust. Has anyone else had luck with aftermarket cups or do I just pony up for the Iwata next time?
Oh man, my buddy went through the same thing with a cheap gun, stripped the cup threads on his second bumper job and tried an aftermarket cup off Amazon that fit okay but leaked around the seal. He ended up just getting the Iwata and said it hurt once but he quit cussing every spray job. For what it's worth, the plastic threads on those budget cups seem to be the first thing to go.
