That week we had three hail damage jobs in a row from the same storm
It was a crazy five days after that big storm hit Springfield. We had three separate cars come in, all with roofs and hoods just covered in dents. The thing is, one owner wanted a full PDR job, another wanted filler and repaint, and the third just wanted it 'good enough'. It really made me think about how we decide the right fix for the same damage. How do you guys usually talk a customer through those choices?

Know exactly what you mean, that's the hardest part of the job. I start by showing them the same dent fixed both ways so they can see the real difference. Then I just lay out the cost and how long each option takes, and let their budget decide.

Honestly, the angle I take is asking what they plan to do with the car. If they're trying to sell it next year, a cheap fix might hurt the value more than they save. If it's their kid's beater car they'll drive into the ground, then "good enough" is totally fine. It's not just about the dent, it's about the car's whole story.
