The paint booth guy who made me slow down my clear coat
Had a rep from the booth supplier walk through my shop in Denver last fall. He watched me lay clear and said 'you're chasing the flash too fast, let it sit 10 minutes longer or you'll get solvent pop in July.' I brushed it off at first, but after a rush job came back with micro blisters, I tried his way. Now I set a timer between coats, and my orange peel complaints basically dropped to zero. Anyone else get a random tip from a vendor that beat what your old mentor taught you?

...and that reminds me of the time the solvent rep told me to wipe down panels with a specific degreaser before base. I thought he was just trying to push product, but damn if my fisheyes didn't disappear. Now I'm scared to change anything about my routine, like the paint gods will punish me for it.
