My bays went from nasty to spotless in 2 weeks and it was all one lazy habit
I run a two bay shop in Akron and for close to a year my floors looked like a raccoon died on them. Oil dry mashed into the concrete, grease tracked into the office, and I was blaming the guys for being sloppy. Two weeks back my new lube tech Diego asked if he could just keep the shop vac plugged in by the drain instead of hauling it out of the back room every time. That was it. One thing. He started vacuuming the dry sweep up right after every spill instead of pushing it around with a broom, and the whole bay stopped turning into gray mud. The office stopped smelling like gear oil too, which my front counter guy noticed first since he used to get headaches by 3pm. I felt pretty dumb because I had been buying the expensive floor cleaner for a year when the real fix was a $79 shop vac and two minutes of actual effort. Now I want to know what dumb little habit is making your shop look worse than it is, because I clearly can't spot my own.
