Was dead set against using a breaker bar on Honda crank bolts until this week

Ngl, I always used an impact gun for crank pulley bolts, figured it was fine. Then I had a 2010 Civic that wouldn't budge after 3 different impacts, so I finally grabbed my 24 inch breaker bar and a cheater pipe. Came right off after some PB Blaster and a solid 2 minutes of steady pressure. Anyone else find impacts just don't cut it on certain Honda engines?

Man I was exactly the same way, thought my big Milwaukee impact could handle anything. Then I got a 2007 Accord with a crank bolt that just sat there and laughed at 1000 ft lbs of nut busting torque. Switched to a breaker bar with the engine locked and it came off like butter. Those Honda crank bolts have this weird harmonic thing where they absorb impact energy somehow. Now I don't even bother trying the gun first on any Honda, straight to the breaker bar and a long pipe.

3 different impacts" tells me everything about those Honda crank bolts, they just laugh at air tools.
