My brother-in-law who works on cars said 'a wire is just a wire' when I was fixing a nav system. It got me thinking about how we view our work.

Yeah, "a wire is just a wire" is totally right. I had a friend say the same thing about a loose plug in my computer, like it was no big deal. But when you're the one staring at the mess of cables, trying to find the one that's broken, it feels like a huge puzzle. That simple wire is the only thing stopping the whole system from working. It really shows how people see things differently based on what they know.
