inJust realized my neighbor has been right about dishwasher filters this whole time
Man it's like everything now is just adding complexity for no real reason, smart fridges that break and toasters that need wifi updates. We traded solid simple machines for gadgets that look cool but can't last a decade. Sometimes the old way just works and there's nothing wrong with that.

inCordless nailers vs pneumatic - spent $900 to learn the hard way
Ngl @joseph_hunt, you hit the nail on the head, no pun intended. I learned the same lesson the hard way a few winters ago. Cordless is sweet for light work or when you're just patching stuff up, but for a full day of framing in the cold, you're begging for trouble. Those lithium batteries just can't handle the drop in temps and the nailer starts jamming like crazy. Pneumatic is way more brutal but it works every single time, rain or shine or snow. Keep that old Paslode running, it's the real workhorse.

inMy colleague's offhand comment about coworking spaces really got me thinking
YES exactly this! I had the same thing in Buenos Aires where coworking was cheap but the coffee shop vibe just hits different for focus. Something about that background noise and having to order a little treat keeps me locked in way better than a quiet sterile office.

inTrick for getting callbacks from HR - list the job number first in your subject line
Oh gosh, I mean I don't know, that could just be a coincidence, right? Maybe they finally got around to looking at your resume and the subject line had nothing to do with it.

inMy 3D printed helmet project warped overnight in my garage
Had a buddy try to fix a similar warp with a heat gun and a stack of textbooks once. Didn't end well, but hey @robertb30, at least the fire department showed up fast.
