My cheap wire stripper gave out during a panel install and cost me a whole afternoon
I was working on a G1000 install in a Cessna 172 last Tuesday and my old $15 stripper just snapped on a 22 gauge wire. I had to run to the supply house for a new one, which set me back about $60 for a decent pair. That extra trip and the downtime meant I missed my deadline by a few hours. What's your go-to brand for hand tools that can take a beating?

That "extra trip and the downtime" is the real killer. I started keeping a backup pair of cheapos in my kit, sealed in the bag, just for that exact panic. It's saved me a couple times when my main Klein's got left on another job.

My uncle was a lineman for forty years and swore by his old pair of Knipex cutters (he called them his "forever snips"). He said the handles outlasted three trucks. I've got a pair now and the spring in them just feels different, like it'll never get tired. It's one of those things you don't appreciate until you're not fighting with a tool.
