Rant: That FAA report from last month on 5G interference is way overblown

I pulled the actual test data from the RTCA document and the interference zones they modeled are based on worst-case scenarios that never happen in real operations. Has anyone else looked at the raw numbers and figured it's just fear mongering?

Did they account for actual altimeter performance in those scenarios though?

Right, and that's EXACTLY the kind of thing that gets me. People run these perfect lab tests but then you've got a real world where your altimeter is fighting against weather, battery drain, and that one time you dropped it on the floor. It reminds me of how people complain about their car's gas mileage not matching the sticker, or how my phone's "all day battery" is a joke by 3pm. We just accept that the official numbers are a rough guess, then act surprised when real life doesn't cooperate. It's like we've all agreed to live in this world of hypotheticals and then get mad when reality shows up.
