TIL a $60 PIC kit beat our $4k bench tester on a Garmin GNS 430, now the shop is split on which one to trust
I've been using the kit on the bench for two weeks and it found an intermittent connector issue the big box missed, but the old guys say you can't sign off a return-to-service with a hobby tool. Anyone here log actual flight hours with a cheap kit over a certified tester?

So the $60 tool is right but can't be trusted? Sounds about right.
