Finally stopped splitting the bill evenly with my sister after one awkward dinner

I used to just Venmo whatever my sister said I owed, even when I only had a salad and she ordered two appetizers plus a bottle of wine. Then last month at Pappadeaux in Houston, the check came to $187 and she asked for $93.50. I did the math in my head and just froze. She goes "what, you want to nickel and dime me?" For the first time I said yes and paid for what I actually got. It was tense for maybe 10 minutes but now we split by item every time. Has anyone else had the "but we're family" guilt trip over money? How do you handle it without turning into a spreadsheet person?
