My sister swore I was wrong about splitting the inheritance

Tbh my sister told me I was being selfish when I said we should split our mom's house 60/40 instead of 50/50. I put in $15,000 over 3 years helping with mom's medical bills while she barely threw in $500. Last month when the house sold for $210,000 in Denver, she wanted half. Honestly I stuck to my guns and showed her the bank statements and receipts. She got mad and didn't talk to me for 6 weeks. Now she finally admitted I was right after her husband pointed out the math. Has anyone else had a sibling get upset over fair money splits like this?

Oh man, that stings but I gotta say I'm the idiot in my family who would probably be on the other side of this argument. I once tried to convince my brother that splitting our grandma's old pickup truck 50/50 was fair even though I literally never changed the oil or helped with the plates. So yeah, your sister's husband probably saved her from digging an even bigger hole, and good for you for having the receipts ready. I'd probably just hand over half my sandwich if someone showed me a bank statement, that's how bad I am with money stuff. I'm glad she finally came around though, family drama over cash just makes holidays weird for years.
