The talk with my brother about borrowing my truck went sideways fast

Last week my brother asked to borrow my F-150 for a moving job. I told him no because he wrecked the last one he borrowed, a 2017 Chevy, back in March. He got real quiet and then said I was being unfair. How do you set boundaries with family without burning bridges?

That "unfair" line is what my buddy's wife used before she wrecked his Toyota.

Yeah that "unfair" line hits different when you're the one whose truck got wrecked. I had a similar thing with my cousin after he borrowed my pressure washer and brought it back broken. He said I was holding grudges but like, sorry I remember the last time I trusted you with my stuff. You're not being unfair, you're being smart. If he can't respect that you still remember the Chevy, then maybe the bridge needs a little space for now.
