Just realized my old pack fitting was way off after a guide pointed it out
Some guide in the Smokies told me my hip belt was sitting 2 inches too low after I mentioned back pain on day 3 of a trip. I moved it up and suddenly my shoulders weren't taking all the weight. Has anyone else had a pro call out a simple gear mistake like that?

8 years of hiking and I realized last month my trekking poles were way too short after watching a video. It's funny how little tweaks like that can make such a huge difference in comfort and energy. Makes me wonder what other simple things I've been doing wrong my whole life without even knowing it.

Oh man, I totally get what you mean! But actually, adjusting pole length is just one part of it-another common mistake is gripping them too tight. That can waste energy and make your hands sore way faster. I realized I was doing that after a buddy pointed it out on a hike last year. Have you checked your grip technique since making the length change?
