Poured concrete vs paver stones for my shed base, concrete won big
I spent last summer comparing a poured concrete slab and paver stones for my 10x12 shed base in Indiana. The pavers looked nice at first but after 6 months they started shifting and sinking in one corner, especially after that heavy spring rain we had. I had to pull the whole thing up and pour a 4 inch concrete slab with rebar, cost me about $350 in materials and a weekend of work. The concrete is dead level and has held up through two winters without any movement at all. If you are building anything over 8x8, do yourself a favor and go concrete from the start. Has anyone else had to redo their shed base after going with something cheaper?

Got a buddy who went with gravel and then pavers for his 12x10 shed in Ohio, looked great for about 4 months. Then that wet spring hit and one whole corner sank like 3 inches, his mower deck kept scraping the frame going in. He ended up just pouring concrete too, said he should've listened to me the first time.

That sinking 3 inches thing is exactly what I've seen happen. Gravel shifts too much when you get heavy rain and clay soil underneath. Concrete is the only way to go if you want it to stay flat.
