The sign at a gas station off I-70 in Salina said "no cash after 9pm" and I think that's the best idea Kansas ever had
Stopped at a truck stop in Salina last Thursday around 10 and saw a handwritten sign taped to the register that said no cash after 9pm, card only. I asked the clerk and she said they got robbed twice in one month and the owner just got tired of keeping a drawer full of bills overnight. Here's my bad take: every late night store should do this and people who complain about it are stuck in the past. I get that some folks only carry cash, but a card machine weighs nothing and a drawer full of twenties at midnight is just a sign that says rob me. Has anyone else seen a store pull this, and did it actually work or did people just stop coming?
