Shoutout to my sourdough starter from ten years ago bouncing back

Thinking back, I used to babysit that thing like it was a newborn. Now I just toss it in the fridge and forget it for weeks. Gave it a feed on a whim the other day and it was full of bubbles by morning. Made a loaf that tasted exactly like it used to, deep and sour. Small victories like that keep me in the kitchen.

Compare that to my starter, which I left in the back of the fridge for three months. It came out looking like a sad science experiment. Your post just proves some of us aren't cut out for long-term relationships with yeast.

Give that starter a chance, @hunt.eric... they're tougher than they look. A couple of feeds might bring it back from the dead.

Figured a neglected starter was a lost cause. Saw one come back strong with just a couple feeds though. Changed my mind on how tough these things really are.
