PSA: don't bake on a humid day like I did last summer in Atlanta

I tried making macarons during a 90% humidity afternoon and they came out sticky and flat - wasted $15 worth of almond flour and eggs. Has anyone else had a weather ruined batch ruin their whole day?

That macaron disaster sounds like a real expensive puddle. Baking on a humid day is basically fighting a losing battle with the air itself. Did you try scraping them off the pan with a spatula while muttering about the weather like I did with my failed pie crust last July? My kitchen looked like a flour bomb went off and the crust was a sticky, shrunken mess that peeled the paint off the counter. Sometimes you just have to laugh and order takeout instead of fighting with Mother Nature.

My friend Jen tried making macarons last month and ended up with a colorful puddle and a broken oven thermometer.
