Stood in line at Bank of America for 47 minutes just to ask one question

Went to my local branch near downtown to ask about their CD rates and the teller couldn't even give me a straight answer, kept trying to push me into some managed account. My buddy who uses Fidelity says he sorted this stuff out in 10 minutes online. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of runaround at a physical bank?

Oh man, "couldn't even give me a straight answer" is exactly what happened to me at Chase last month. I stood there for 35 minutes and the lady kept saying "well it depends on your goals" instead of just telling me the damn rate. They're trained to push those managed accounts because they make more money off fees. My credit union online lets me see CD rates in like 30 seconds with no hassle. Physical banks are just a waste of time these days unless you absolutely have to go in.

My credit union was the same way @hannah240, night and day difference. Took me maybe two minutes to lock in a 5.25% CD online with no one trying to upsell me into something. Physical banks just feel like you're in a sales pitch half the time.
