Hot take: the school librarian who quit over a book list is the real story here
My kid's middle school in Plano pulled 14 books from the shelves back in March, and the librarian resigned two weeks later instead of following the new rule. I went to the board meeting on a Tuesday night and 30 parents showed up, but the vote still went through 5 to 2. What got me was the librarian's sign-off email, which a parent read out loud: she wrote that she could not look kids in the eye while locking up stories about their own lives. Now the books live in a little free library someone set up across the street from the school. Anyone else seen a whole collection move off campus like this?
