My uncle swears stick burners make better brisket, but he lost to a pellet guy at the Amarillo cookoff
My uncle has run an offset stick burner for 12 years and he always says pellet smokers are cheating, but at the Amarillo cookoff last Saturday a guy with a pellet grill took first place in brisket over him. Now half the family is saying pellets are just as good and the other half says the judges do not know real BBQ. So who is right here, does the pitmaster matter more than the pit, or was that judge just crazy?
