Am I the only one who thinks stores push credit cards way too hard on cashiers?
I worked the register at a grocery store in Columbus for about 8 months back in 2022, and my manager pulled me into the back office twice a week to go over my card sign-up numbers. She told me I needed to hit at least 5 sign-ups a week or my shifts would start getting cut. One night a lady buying just milk and bread got asked by me and then a second employee near the door, and she snapped at us about being harassed while shopping. Corporate keeps saying it helps the customer, but I have never once seen a person leave happy after signing up. Did your store tie your schedule to card numbers too, or was mine just extra bad?
